People feel better when engaged in social activity. Let’s Kick ASS Palm Springs helps long-term survivors overcome isolation by creating social opportunity. From our popular monthly potlucks, thrice-monthly coffee socials, and our movie nights, to now establishing annual events such as our June 5, Long-term Survivors Day reception and our Thanksgiving Day feast, LKAPS benefits its members through engagement.
To honor National HIV Long-Term Survivors Awareness Day (June 5) and the 10th Anniversary of Let’s Kick ASS-Palm Springs, the Riverside County Board of Supervisors led by Chair and District 4 Supervisor V. Manuel Perez presented LKAPS President Jax Kelly with a Proclamation. LKAPS is heading to The Inheritance (Part 1), and we hope you’ll join us for this powerful night of theater and reflection.
Written by Matthew Lopez and directed by Steve Rosenbaum, The Inheritance is the winner of the Tony Award, Drama Desk Award, and Olivier Award for Best Play. Decades after the height of the AIDS epidemic, it tells the story of three generations of gay men in New York as they navigate survival, healing, class, and belonging. The play is inspired by E.M. Forster’s Howards End and is a moving, epic exploration of our shared history and future.
